Hajnalka Jankovics was graduated as a high-school teacher in Mathematics, Chemistry and Informatics in 1997 and 1999 at the University of Szeged (SZTE, former Attila József University of Sciences), in Hungary. As a PhD student, she gained experience on the field of crystallization of metal complexes (University of Crete, Greece), chemistry of metalloproteins (Technical University of Denmark, DTU) and organotin(IV) chemistry (SZTE and University of Camerino, Italy). She has got her PhD degree in 2003 on the field of solution chemistry and solid synthesis of the complexes of organotin(IV) cations and biologically relevant ligands. As a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at DTU, she extended her scientific experience with recombinant DNA technology techniques, protein expression and purification and the synthesis of artificial metalloproteins. After returning to SZTE she took part in the establishment of a new molecular biology research laboratory. She has been working in the Bio-Nanosystems Laboratory (Research Institute of Biomolecular and Chemical Engineering, University of Pannonia) since 2008. Currently she works on engineering and study of flagellin-based polymerizable binding proteins and the investigation of the flagellar export system.
