Balázs Kakasi has graduated with master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, and later in Environmental Engineering as well on the University of Pannonia. During his PhD studies he worked in the Ecotoxicology Research Group of Institute of Environmental Sciences. His research focused on genotoxicological analysis of environmental samples. He spent three semesters on Georgikon Faculty at Keszthely, where he carried out genotoxicological, cell biological and cell analytical research with flow cytometry. He works in the Research Institute of Biomolecular and Chemical Engineering since 2014. At the beginning he was the member of Biotechnological Engineering Research Group, his research focused on production of nanogel enzymes and enzyme stabilization. Since 2016 he is the member of Bio-nanotechnological Research Group. His current research topic is creation and testing of cell surface receptor binding flagellin variants. He obtained his PhD degree in 2019. The title of his thesis is “Geno- and citotoxicological assessment of complex environmental samples”, wherewith he won the “best PhD thesis in VEAB region” award. He continues his work in the Research Institute as a research fellow since June 2020.
