Georgina Husztiné Nagy graduated from the University of Debrecen in 2005 as a biologist / medical biologist. She joined a research group at the Department of Dermatology, University of Debrecen as a PhD student and studied the elements of innate immune system in atopic dermatitis. At the same time she was a member of the Quality Control Laboratory of Cell Therapy Laboratory between 2007 and 2010. She obtained her doctoral degree in 2017. She has been working in the Bio-Nanosystems Laboratory since October 2017. Her current research interest is to design and study flagellin-based magnetite and nickel-binding proteins capable for self-assembly and to create various calcium carbonate crystal forms (e.g. calcite, aragonite, vaterite) experimentally, occurring in limestone organisms by using properly functionalized flagellar filament templates.
